What is your job title at Synergi?
Operations and Client Project Coordinator

What responsibilities will you have within the company?
The main responsibilities of the role are to facilitate, resource and coordinate all projects, therefore a pivotal role in keeping everything joined up from account management, project development through to delivery.

Do you have anything new you can bring to the company?
I have years of experience of project and event management; I am exceptionally organized and am used to keeping lots of balls in the air at the same time. I have also recently become Prince2 practitioner qualified
. Where have you come from/ what experience do you have and over how many years?
My most recent experience was at Northumbria University where I have been for the last 5 ½ years. My most recent role was to Administer and project manage the relationships of the Universities Cultural Partnerships in particular ensuring their events and projects ran smoothly, as well as the responsibility for the administration and operational delivery of placements for 15 diverse degree courses, involving continuous liaison with external organisations and local businesses to maintain links.

Prior to this I have had many years event management experience, the most high profile being the first Head of conferences and Events at Sage Gateshead where I developed the corporate business, lead the conference team and managed large events for up to 3000 people. I began with the Sage Gateshead as the 1st member of non-executive staff, progressing with the organization through the build and first few years of operation before moving on to a new challenge at Alnwick Castle where I was appointed to develop and grow the corporate business.
I initially trained as a theatre stage manager at RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art), which gave me an excellent grounding in project management, a theatre production is just another type of project!

What projects have you worked on in the past?
Too many to mention, but highlights include:
• The pre-election Labour Party Spring Conference at Sage Gateshead in 2005, which included not only the Labour Party and staff at Sage Gateshead, but also various other partners, such as Northumbria Police and other emergency services, G4S, Exhibition partners and colleagues across NewcastleGateshead. • WOMEX world music Expo for 3000 delegates and a large exhibition • Various UNISON conferences • A Celebrity Princes Trust event at Alnwick Castle • A large event for HRH Prince Charles at Alwnick Castle • My own business, turning a rundown local restaurant into an award winning business within its first year, including the redevelopment of the premises, customer service and operations.

Can you give me a quote about how you feel about joining
Synergi and what you look forward to doing?
I am very excited about joining Synergi, particularly at such a busy time in their growth as a company. Although technology is a new sector for me, all my skills, and in particular my project management skills are completely transferable. I love to ‘make things happen’ and hope that my involvement in the projects that we have going on will help to ensure their smooth running.
